Giving Tuesday 2016

Calgary, AB (November 23, 2016) — The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) will be presenting Harvest Project in Vancouver, Inn from the Cold in Calgary and Riverton & District Friendship Center in Manitoba with donated  computers on November 29th, which is Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday is a nation-wide initiative that promotes giving-back on the Tuesday immediately following the consumer sales and material focus of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

“We are extremely excited to present these donations on Giving Tuesday. Each of these charities provides essential services for people experiencing hardship, and they are in dire need of technology to keep up” says Bojan Paduh, founder and president of ERA. “It is so important going into the holidays to remember that there are thousands of Canadians struggling right now.  Giving Tuesday is a really positive reminder and great platform through which we can give back.”

Harvest Project will receive 8 computers, Inn from the Cold will receive 11 computers and Riverton & District Friendship Center will receive 14 computers.

Media representatives are invited to attend and cover these donation stories.

About the Electronic Recycling Association

Established in 2004, ERA is a non-profit organization directed to reduce the environmental impact of improperly discarded toxic electronic waste by offering accessible services to help corporations and individuals manage their retiring IT assets. Through industry leading pickup, data removal and reporting/certification services, ERA provides a full-circle solution for e-waste management. With reuse being ERA’s top priority, every item that is received is examined for any remaining productive life and refurbished for reuse. True end of life items are transferred to accredited recyclers where a nil landfill contribution can be assured. ERA is committed to supporting local charities and individuals in need through the provision of electronic equipment to charities and individuals alike.
